Most exercises strengthen the calf but very few strengthen the anterior tibialis. So most people will have a very strong calf muscle and a very weak ant. tib. which can cause very sore shins, known as the aforementioned shin splints. To solve the problem? Correct the mucle imbalance- strengthen the anterior tibialis!
